Yoga saved my life. I had a massive stroke in 2014 and my entire world shifted. Since that time, I have dedicated my life to study and facilitation of embodiment. I hope to be a small part of other people’s journey.

I am not a guru. I am not a therapist. I am not a medical practitioner. I am a movement facilitator.

The body has always fascinated me; as a teacher, as a performance artist, as a dancer, as a yoga instructor. All paths have always led back to the body.

I’ve sought out many teachers and I hope to encounter many more.

Although, I’ve had a foundational yoga practice since 2001, it was in 2014 that yoga became my lifeline. In matter of moments, I went from being a verbose, agile performance artist and adventurer to a person who could not speak, could not read, could barely control the entire right-side of her body. “Humbling” does not even begin to describe the effect it had on me. As soon as I was released from the hospital, I went back to yoga, initially in the form of daily, private sessions with a loving yoga instructor. The dedicated team of medical providers were astounded at how quickly I outpaced their expectations. Ultimately, my recovery went well beyond the prognosis I had been given.

In 2017, I began my 200-hour Integrative Flow Yoga Teacher Training at Solstice Studio in Atlanta with the sole-intention of paying back the gift that the Universe had given me. In the midst of my training, I became pregnant with my first and only child, and earned my certification in 2018 as I entered the second trimester.

When my son turned six-months, the family packed up and left for Kripalu in Massachusetts to begin my Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga Training. In 2021, I completed my Center for Trauma & Embodiment, Justice Resource Institute TCTSY Facilitator Certification.

The study of trauma and embodiment alongside the experience of birthing my son compelled me to seek out Mama Tree Prenatal Yoga Training with Jane Austin in San Fransisco to delve into the phenomenon of childbirth. I felt a need, based on my own experience to help both pre-natal and post-natal mothers find their own empowerment.

The next step in my journey was to seek out further instruction in the field of Attachment theory so I studied with and received my Somatic Attachment Therapy certification from Embody Lab online in the middle of the pandemic.

My fascination with the body is ongoing and I am currently studying with several other teachers to deepen my practice.
